Maya Khan – Pakistani Tv Host
Maya Khan is being targeted by former Expert Advisor to the United Nations on Human Rights, Ansar Burney for using his worker Sunil on a television show without consent.
He feels that Maya has created more drama for the public media by inviting his worker to her show without his permission. His next step was to fire his brothers Sarim Burney from the Ansar Burney Trust because he believes his brother had a hand in creating the drama as well.
Burney stated that he is convinced that his worker Sunil was induced on Maya Khan’s show into converting from his religion on the show.
While the cleric on Maya Khan’s show was performing the conversion on Sunil, Ansar Burney claims that his brother was sitting right next to Sunil aiding in the conversion process trying to keep Sunil calm and comfortable.
The live conversion on television has stirred up the public and has raised some concerns about the rights of minorities in Pakistan.
If Sunil had chosen to convert to Islam there was no need for it to be televised on live television according to Ansar Burney, He says that instead, it should have been done privately with a small number of witnesses.
