(CHAKRA) Hindus have praised Pope Benedict XV1 for raising the importance of Family Union in his message through a letter that was released on September 24th.
The letter which was released at Vatican City for the “Seventh World Meeting of Families 2012” which will take place in May and June of 2012, he stated that in a capitalistic society of today it is difficult to rest with family because resting time is considered a time for evasion and consumption. These in turn contribute to family breakups and communities leading to the spread of an individualistic lifestyle, according to the Pope.
Rajan Zed, a Hindu statesman stated that consumerism has basically taken the status of a religion for many of us in today’s society which has caused humanity to neglect spirituality and caused them to break ties because of the lack of family values and faith in traditions. He concluded that the need for family values is more important than feeling a commitment to consumerism. Zed, the President of the Universal Society of Hinduism further stated the importance and need for humanity to work together towards a better future for our kind.
Hinduism is the third largest religion of the world and the oldest religion of the world. It has about 1 billion adherents and its ultimate goal is moksh which is the ultimate path to liberation. Pope Benedict heads the Roman Catholic Church which is the largest Christian based denomination.
