Hindus have the largest share of those with a college degree in USA as compared to any other major religious group, per an analysis by Pew Research Center (PRC), a nonpartisan fact tank headquartered in Washington DC. As more and more Hindus are born in the US, it is expected that this rate of education will go much higher as most of the Hindus that do not have a university educated immigrated to the US from India from poor families that could not afford education.
According to a chart posted in this analysis; 77% of Hindus have college degrees, thus topping this chart which lists 30 U.S. religious groups. Among the religious groups given; Jews are at number 3, Buddhists at 7, Atheists at 9, Muslims at 12, United Methodist Church at 13, Mormons at 16, Catholics at 19, Southern Baptist Convention at 24, Jehovah’s Witness at 28, etc.
Last year a similar study came in other nations such as the UK, where similar results were outputted as Hindus were the most educated religious/cultural group.
Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, congratulating the Hindu community on topping the list of 30 U.S. religious groups ranked by educational attainment by PRC; urged them to continue with the traditional values of hard work, higher morals, stress on education, sanctity of marriage, etc.; amidst so many distractions.
Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, advised Hindus to focus on inner search, stay pure, explore the vast wisdom of scriptures, make spirituality more attractive to youth and children, stay away from the greed, and always keep God in the life.
Jon Banks says
Sanata Dharma itself is science based. When Hindu children learn their religion, unbeknownst to them they are learning quantum physics and other advanced studies which better prepare them for spiritual as well as academic success.
