A release from Louis Vuitton stated: “Diwali will be a wonderful occasion to share its values with visitors worldwide in an atmosphere of joy and festivity.” This is the first time Louis Vuitton will be celebratiting this auspicious occasion at this caliber. Louis Vuitton respects India’s culture, tradition, and passion for innovation and these are the reasons for why it has chosen to share the Hindu values to the world through its clothing line.
In today’s society where peace and harmony are hard to come by, Louis Vuitton has chosen to display values of Diwali such as light, joy, optimism and new beginnings to remind the world of what we should strive for. By using Hindu motifs for promotional items in the global network of stores, LV is helping to create an awareness of Hindu values and traditions–stemming from the worlds third largest and oldest religion.
For the occasion, LV store windows are displaying columns of trunks made out of banana paper that were specially designed and crafted in India. The merchandizing and wrapping will also follow the ideals of the festival of Diwali, inspired by light and joy.
