In a high voltage political drama, Bihar’s former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar planned a coup against his own party’s ruling Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. Under the leadership of Mr. Nitish Kumar, Janata Dal United (JDU) has expelled its own CM from the party. And now, Mr. Kumar will soon claim to form the next government against his own party’s government. Interestingly enough, eight months ago, on 17th May 2014, Nitish Kumar had resigned, only a day after his party’s poor showing in the Lok Sabha election. The JDU had managed to get just 2 seats out of 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state of Bihar. Kumar then hand-picked Jitan Ram Manjhi with two purposes: Firstly, to woo Maha-Dalit voters; secondly, to run a remote controlled government using Jitan Ram Manjhi as its puppet.

Incidentally, Nitish Kumar’s tryst with the CM’s post closely resembled that of Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, who has done a similar round about for the CM’s post in the national capital region. With outside unconditional support from the Congress Party, Aam Adami Party (AAP)’s government was constituted under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. After a mere 49 day stint, Kejriwal resigned. AAP gave the alibi of not being able to pass the anti-graft Jan Lokpal Bill in the Delhi Assembly. President’s rule was imposed in Delhi and Mr. Kejriwal put his entire energy and resources to fight against BJP’s then Prime-ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. But as soon as Kejriwal was declared as miserably defeated, he came back to Delhi and since then, he is trying to be Delhi’s chief minister once more. The cost of the Delhi elections was almost Rs. 500 Crores which was imposed on the people of Delhi within a year. As per Election Commission estimates, around Rs. 160 Crores was spent by candidates alone during this re-election.

It was a clear case of political opportunism being professed by Arvind Kejriwal. But he not only managed to get away with it, but was also strongly supported by all the other parties for his next attempt to attain power. With a strong syndicate in main stream media, Kejriwal running away without proper reasons and coming back without any further reasons was just never seen as an issue in Delhi Elections. In fact, this opportunism was celebrated with his convenient twists, while MSM kept its target on BJP’s CM candidate Mrs Kiran Bedi. Such cover-up can be explained by desperation of the routed Congress Party, Communist Party and their Lutyens support system in the national capital region after the Lok Sabha elections. They all unconditionally support Kejriwal through every means to stop BJP in winning Delhi.

Nonetheless, Kejriwal became the epitome of opportunism in electoral politics. He did everything, against which he claimed moral position of a crusader: Black money for the party fund, giving tickets to criminals, and an AAP candidate was caught with a huge cache of liquor during the elections. Nitish Kumar is another MufflerMan (Arvind Kejriwal) of Bihar. First, he ran away from the responsibility of CM. Now, he wants it back at any cost. Just like Kejriwal, Nitish Kumar is doing the same as he took moral responsibility of his party’s defeat in Lok Sabha elections. That defeat is not undone yet, but he is back to claim the CM post in Bihar.

When Indian democracy was already suffering from many shortcomings including castesim, nepotism, criminalization, communalization and corruption, opportunism adds-on an additional misery to it. Politics without value amounts to a crime against a democracy. A democracy relies on the faith of people, it must not be allowed to be taken hostage by a gang of ideologues who participate in democracy just to grab power.

Looks like Kejriwal is living in perpetual denial of his idiosyncrasies

1) Much to the angst of his long-forgotten mentor, Anna Hazare, he used the India Against Corruption (IAC) Movement to fuel his own political aspirations, despite the parent party being vehemently against it.

2) After his 49 day stint as Delhi CM (earning him the moniker ‘AK-47′), he shamelessly abandoned the people of the city to pursue a career in Lok Sabha… laughably, he then shamelessly compared himself to Sri Krishna leaving the battlefield.

No, Kejriwal, ‘Bhagoda’ (a deserter) is not the same as ‘Rann-chhod’ (one who leads his people away from the battle-field). The former absconded from his duties toward his people to pursue better opportunities, the latter left the battlefield to save the lives of his Mathura-vasis from needless bloodshed. The same Krishna shattered the formation of the the kauravas on the day of reckoning and ensured that the adhaarmika jaraasandh was killed.

3) Then when the odds turned against him, Kejriwal claimed all he wants to do is make sure Modi doesn’t become PM. If only wishes were horses. Anyhow, he ended up winning only 4 seats (same as a Tata Nano) out of 543 in Lok Sabha. A classical case of getting one’s hand caught in the cookie jar.

4) Last week, his website endorsed Modi as PM and Kejriwal for Delhi CM (the same guy who was vehemently after Modi for so long now uses Modi’s image to fuel his own campaign).

5) When he realized his blunder after irking many (ex, hopefully?) AAP members, he pulled the banner down

6) Most recently, he posted an image of Modi sharing a friendly moment with the Ambanis to rake up more conspiracy theories and is back to Modi bashing again. And it has not even been a week since he endorsed him as PM

AAP has no credibility whatsoever. From its inception it has been more interested in theatrics than governing. It’s development model is borderline anarchy and the membership itself is filled with Marxist sympathizers. To top it all it is led by a guy who in his political career so far has only excelled in drama. Stop the attention-seeking already, we’re longer amused

(CHAKRA Blogs) February 12, 2014 was one of the worst days in the history of Indian democracy. A ruling party in Delhi resorted to a strange type of vote bank politics which was unheard of in Independent & Republic India.

Arvind Kejriwal of AAP party

Last year, Kejriwal had asked citizens of Delhi to protest “by not paying electricity bills” (which by the way is illegal because whether people like it or not, they have to pay bills). Although lot of mature & honest people appreciated his protests, they still went ahead and paid their bills because they were ethical and could not think of going against their moral conscience. But there were many who went against their moral conscience & did not pay their bills, thereby becoming his “followers” (by listening to what he said inspite of it being illegal). And now that he is in power, he has excused such followers and rewarded them by subsidizing their electricity bills (i.e. he has indirectly encouraged illegal acts & penalized honest & ethical citizens).

There have been lot of discussions on this matter of vote bank politics and although it is being highly condemned, there still seems to be justification from certain corners for it by supporters who are stating that even other political parties do vote bank politics and hence it is unfair to target Kejriwal’s party now.

Firstly, one wrong cannot be countered with another wrong. Secondly, If Kejriwal has to be excused just because “others also do the same”, then what was the need of his new party which was formed on the basis of “high moral ground” and “different from other parties”?

Thirdly and finally and most importantly, this is the worst & dangerous form of vote bank politics. How? Lets dissect this issue and compare it with the vote bank strategies of other political parties and find out how the strategy used by Kejriwal is dangerous for the nation.

Whenever a political party gives special benefits to a certain section of the society, it becomes vote bank politics.

We can broadly have the following types of vote banks:

1) Based on religion/caste:

Typically, a person born in a particular religion or caste remains in the same for lifetime (conversions are negligible and exceptional cases. An SC/ST remains SC/ST from birth to death). Moreover, these are actually derived out of the Constitution. It can mostly be justified by stating that certain castes were being oppressed for several centuries and hence must be given an opportunity now (and uplifted) through such vote bank politics.

2) Based on economics:

This is a widely acceptable form of vote bank because it does not discriminate people based on religion. People who are in need (below poverty line or poor farmers) are given certain benefits. Some examples include Food Security Bill, BPL schemes etc.

3) Based on a static category like gender, profession, education:

This is a recent phenomenon which has emerged due to the movement for equality. Thanks to some of the feminine movements, females are now being given some extra benefits to help them rise and attain equality. Also, some special considerations & facilities might be of great use to professions in which workers find it difficult to afford such facilities due to the nature of their earnings. Examples include free bicycles for newspaper boys or carts for vegetable sellers. Providing laptops to students is also widely appreciated because it might help students (who are going to be tomorrow’s leaders) in their education.

4) Based On loyalty/affiliations:

This is the most dangerous form of vote bank because it is neither based on religion/caste which tries to uplift certain sections which were oppressed for centuries, nor is it based on economy which tries to help the poor and nor does it promote equality.

This vote bank is based on affiliation and was popular among Islamic rulers who had implemented differential taxation systems based on religion to promote conversions. Such Islamic rulers would either forcefully convert people from different religions to their own religion (by threatening to kill them), or penalize ppl of other religions by setting them very high taxes (or subsidize citizens of their own religion) so that it can indirectly force everybody to convert to their own religion (i.e. change their loyalty from one religion to another).

Among all the above mentioned vote bank type of politics, in type 1, type 2 and type 3, even those who did not support/vote for the party will get the benefits. i.e a poor farmer who did not vote for Congress will still get the farmer loan waiver or FSB when Congress comes to power. Even a female who did not vote at all, is still a beneficiary of the promised policies.

Whereas in the 4th type of vote bank politics, it tries to reward/benefit only those who explicitly support the party and obey what the ruler/dictator instructs. For example, in the above example of Islamic ruler, even if a Hindu supports/votes for him, he still has to pay the high taxes because he did not convert to Islam as expected by the Islamic ruler (i.e Did not obey the King). And this is something which was followed by rulers like Aurangzeb. (Please Google search “Jizya tax system” to know more about it).

What Kejriwal is following is the 4th type of vote bank politics. By subsidizing it only to his own affiliates/followers, he is setting a dangerous precedent of forcing others also to become his affiliates/followers. This is precisely the politics Aurangzeb used to follow and it is unfortunate to witness such politics in Independent & Republic India.

I trust my humble effort to express my views and analysis of AAP’s new brand of vote bank politics will help the voters of India see through the political machinations of anti-national forces.

Your humble servant,

Sharan Bhagavath

By Krishna Baalu

Mr Arvind Kejriwal a former Income Tax officer, Magsaysay award winner, hailing from Haryana, started his activism as a maverick crusader but, today grown in to a political force to be reckoned with. Though, his father Sri Gobind Ram Kejriwal was an RSS sympathiser, his journey was flagged off with a seemingly sincere cause, but skewed himself so badly that landed him in the cluster of fringe pseudo rights activists of Batla House & World Vision kind of NGO’s. How he launched his movement with Vande Mataram, Bharat Mataki Jai, Inquilab Zindabad etc and how ended up on the laps of leftists, and moving with Islamic and Christian groups is all a tall story.

Before he floated the Aam Aadmi Party, he was ably supported by his NRI sympathisers, who provided him a monthly financial aid of Rs 25,000/ to meet his family expenditure, and lend him hand loans to repay Rs Nine Lakhs plus dues to his former employer, the IT Department.

He made his debut by skilfully associating himself with Anna Hazare, Sri Sri Ravi Shanker, and Baba Ramdev in initial days of his activism. He had also approached a Delhi based Church and was about to invite RSS Chief Ram Madhav to the dais of Anna’s hunger strike, but later backed off from the idea for reasons well known to all.

It was beyond doubt, that huge RSS volunteers and Sri Sri Ravi Shanker’s followers supported Anna and Kejriwal, in every corner of the country. Not to forget the event that Kejriwal met LK Advani seeking BJP s support when Anna agitation was at peak (now repeatedly attacking BJP as communal party). When the andholan was taking a good shape, some amazing transitions took place.

Kejriwal meekly surrendered to the media bullying. Kejriwal succumbed to the media accusation of ‘the andholan being heavily saffronised’ In order to keep himself off the accusation he first removed the Bharat Mata flex and dumped behind the dais as if Bharat Mata was then exclusively belonged to Hindus alone, not for the Nation in entirety.

Later he along with his associates met Jama Masjid Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari and pleaded for the community support. However Imam openly dubbed the andholan as änti-Islam, much to the upset of Anna and Kejriwal

In the first place, being a self righteous ideal leader, Kejriwal should not have approached Imam of Jama Masjid, instead, but ought to have defended Anna, vouching that Anna’s call was for the entire Indians, not aimed at any one section of Indians. Such a fitting reply would have enhanced his stature, but he surrendered timidly.

By then many suspected Kejriwal of being an agent of Maobadi’s. As rightly assumed, his outer coat started peeling off and inner ‘red’ exposed after the formation of AAP. By then he could manage to win many followers, fooling them to believe in his ‘nationalism’

AAP has no political ideology except attention grabbing of media & pseudo intellectuals!

Probably AAP is the first political party to have been launched without any party ideology. Till date it is elusive on this issue, as this is the only convenient way to deceive unsuspecting people, and can conceal his leftist-oriented anti national agenda.

The first-shocker:

Kejriwal’s senior partner and mentor Mr Prashant Bhushan openly advocated and supported the cause of separate Kashmir. In a public meet on Kashmir held in 2011, Bhushan shockingly and cowardly backed the secession of Kashmir. Later he dubbed India’s premier agency IB of being infected with Hindu extremists and defended banned SIMI in a most shameful manner. These utterances shocked one and all, but main stream media chose to ignore it.

Another shocker: Kejriwal’s open support to Batla House fake encounter theory. In a letter addressed to Muslims in an appeasing tone, he endorsed Prashanth Bhushan’s stand in support of Batla House fake encounter theory.

Another shocker His support to Kudankulam anti nuclear protest led by UdhayKumar and his Christian Missionaries in Tamil Nadu. Kejriwal rushed to Tamil Nadu and demonstrated his open support to the agitation. This move was purely a publicity stunt only to get some media coverage in Southern states.

By then the nation was wondering why he chose to associate himself with Christian and Muslim outfits on contentious issues.

Kejriwal is setting a dangerous anti national precedent even surpassing Congress party

Two reasons can be presumed behind his change of colour:

1) Kejriwal must have masqueraded as a Gandhi an nationalist right from the start in a thoroughly unsuspicious manner or

2) half way through, he might have thought that a pro minority anti BJP/ to some extent anti-Hindu stance alone can minimise the media’s ambush on him and can muster good coverage by the media for his growing toddler the AAP

If it is, first cited reason, we have to counter him vigorously or

If it is, second cited reason, we have to write him off, considering him a branch of Congress, who entered the fray with a sole purpose of divide the anti incumbency votes.

Whatsoever be the reason Kejriwal is dangerously playing in the hands of Jihadi outfits hurting millions of patriots, at the cost of national security and integrity.

Time to tame this national threat before it grows in to a monster Godzilla!
