Toronto, Canada (CHAKRA) – Toronto-based Bishan Dass, is desperate for the release of his 32-year-old son, Robin Singh from the rein of Pakistani-based Taliban, who kidnapped him and are forcing him to convert to Islam.

For a ransom of 10 million rupees, Robin Singh, an IT graduate from a US university, Robin Singh was kidnapped from Peshawar on February 12.  Singh, a father of three sons is one of the four people recently kidnapped by the Pakistan Taliban from Peshawar for ransom.

70-year-old Dass said his wife, Shama and him do not have the money to provide for the release of their son and are feeling helpless in this situation.

Dass, a former vice president of the National Bank of Pakistan, immigrated to Canada in 1999 and lives in the highly Indian populated city of Brampton.

Rajat, Singh’s older brother was called for ransom by Taliban members after Singh was kidnapped.  Now they are threatening Rajat daily says the fearful father.

Dass and his sons are under threat because they are baptized Sikhs and they are asking the Canadian government to help with this situation.  “I am appealing to the Canadian government to help us …we are a Sikh family and my baptized sons are under threat. They are under threat to convert,” said Dass.

Sajan Singh, Dass’ other son said that they cannot appeal to India for help.  He said, “India can’t do anything. In fact, its mention will only complicate things for us.”

Dass is pleading with the Canadian government for help saying, “My one son is kidnapped. His wife and three little boys are distraught. Another son is getting threats. Please help us.”

Dass and the family are jus t praying and feel very helpless.

This demand for ransom is a false zizya tax to convert, failing that the captive will be killed. Kill, convert or coax
to pay arbitrary money as murderous zizya tax. Yet Islam is a religion of peace, a maxim floated by President George Bush Jr after 9/11 to invade Afghanistan on one hand and lay brute bare praises on Islam posing their sympathiser on the other hand. Nice technique.
