Gurgaon, Haryana (CHAKRA) – Baba Ramdev-led, satyagraha, against corruption and black money, may have ended in the national capital but his followers have not given up the fight and are determined to keep moving ahead with their stance against corruption. On Sunday many of Guru Ramdev’s followers as well as followers of other religions and social organizations, hit the road to keep on supporting him.

In front of the deputy commissioners residence, Ramdev supporters burnt effigies of the Congress government during a protest in the market. It has also been announced by the Bharat Swabhiman Trust, that Monday will be declared as Black Monday, calling all shop owners to keep their shutters down for the day.

After the Saturday night incident with the police forces and tear gas, Ramdev’s supporters came out in large numbers, including organizations like Arya Samaj, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Sanatan Dharm Sabha, Arya Pritinidhi Sabha, Parivartan Sangh, as well as members from the BJP and the RWA’s–all gathered in front of the Fountain Chowk in the old city.

The state Vice President of Arya Pritinidhi Sabha, Kanhaiya Lal Arya said that the police resorting to violence was a clear infringement of human rights. He further stated his discontentment with the police forces aim to protect the government rather than doing something about he corruption of the government.

Kulbhushan Bhardwaj, the senior city BJP leader and district bar association president, said that the Saturday night’s incident was comparable to the Jallianwala Bagh episode. He further alleged that the only reason the UPA congress targeted the satyagraha, was to get the publics minds off of the real issue at hand–the corruption.

Vayapar Mandal, from the Trade Association of Gurgaon has also supported the movement, announcing that all shops in the city would remain closed on Monday. Trilok Chand Sharma, the state president of Bharat Swabhiman Trust, said that police have been deployed in the city to maintain the law and prevent any harm to the people of the city.

S.S. Deswal, a Gurgaon police commissioner, said that they have deployed police to maintain the law and order of the city while some groups took out a flag march on the city roads and other areas in the district. As long as people protest peaceful the city police have no problem with protests taking place.

The Delhi Govt. in collusion with the Central Cabinet has done a stupid thing in vacating forcibly Baba Ramdev from his hunger strike against Brashtachar and to bring back billions of wealth stashed away in foreign banks by politicians and others. This clearly shows that all the Central Govt. Ministers, PM and Sonia Gandhi are also stashed wealth in foreign banks and this stir by Baba Ramdev will deprive them their stashed wealth. Long Live Congress and their Ministers.

I was one of those who attended the meeting at Chennai organised by the Bharat Swabhiman Trust on Saturday, 4th June 2011 between 9.30 am and 5.30pm behind Q.E.M.College . The entire occasion was very peaceful and confined to condemning corruption and exhorting the government to leave no stone unturned towards recouping for the Indian people all the black money stashed away abroad and in India.
My friends and I are unequivocal in condemning the police action on Swami Ramdev and his followers in New Delhi. The matter is comparable to a war committed on hapless, unarmed people. Were there no options left than to attack at dead of night and leave the followers to the mercies of the streets of New Delhi, a crime-ridden city. We can understand well the Baba’s ire at and pronouncements on Smt. Sonia Gandhi. The whole exercise seems to have been the offspring of some befuddled megalomaniac brain with little thought to the consequences of the action and the umbrage that we Indians would react with. Even terrorists or criminals holed up in a safe haven would be challenged at least thrice to surrender and give up their arms before ordering the attack. Surely the followers of Yoga Guru Ramdevji deserved no less? What harm was there in waiting till Sunday morning and announcing that the permission to hold the Yoga Camp has been withdrawn and the people requested to disperse peacefully? The hasty pre-dawn action ordered is highly suspect and the craven Prime Minister Shri Manmohan Singh had better resign from his post acknowledging his accountability on this occasion at least.

    Sincerely yours,
    L.Kalavathi
